What we're about

We love creating stuff, and we love hanging out together. We’d also love it if you’d bring your yarn (or whatever) and hang out with us. Do you knit? Do you crochet? Do you spin your own yarn? Do you embroider? How about needlepoint? We won’t judge. The important thing is that we get together in Bay Ridge (y’know, near the end of the R line in Brooklyn) to have lovely conversations while doing our yarn craft thing. The core of our group represents knitting and crochet equally, so we won’t have any rivalries. Our group members also love to help out, so feel free to bring your troubled projects, your snarled yarn-balls, and that thing you made that you just can’t get around to blocking. (Seriously. One of us actually enjoys blocking.)

Did I mention that we’re personable? We are. We like people. (Ok. One of us doesn’t like people as a group, but really enjoys them individually.) We welcome moms and dads, the whole LGBTQ+ community, young folks, elders, believers, non-believers, folks from here, folks from there, and everyone who doesn’t want to sit in these word-buckets. Just come and be human with us.

Craft with us Sunday morning on Zoom!

Online event

For years now, our little group has met once a week to hang out together and craft while hanging out with other sentient adults. We used to be all about knitting and crochet, but then one started chainmaille, another started cross-stitch, and one illustrious member crafted by reading the New York Times. Throughout all our phases, meeting spaces, and crafts, the constant has been our easy-going, welcoming vibe. The group truly welcomes all sorts of humans who practice all sorts of art. We’re as happy to meet seasoned knitters as we are to meet embroiderers who are picking up a needle for the first time. We enjoy each other’s company, and we’re pretty sure we’ll enjoy yours. So join us to craft virtually while we wait for venues to open up or a chance to walk to a park where we can each sit at least 6 feet apart with masks on. (This will make passing the scissors more difficult, but we'll make do.) Stakes are low, so come by and say hi if you’re not sure this is the right group for you. Hang out with us once and then make up your mind. There’s no fee, and you were going to get on the interwebs Sunday morning anyway.
