Bay Ridge Fiber Crafting on Sunday Morning!
It's finally Fall!! This is prime yarn crafting season as the temperature drops and cozying up to a skein of yarn is the best feeling in the world. We hope you'll join us to craft and chat while sipping coffee or having a tasty treat. Whether you're a seasoned crafter or you're picking up hook or needles for the first time, we'll be delighted with your company. If you have a project, feel free to bring it. If you'd like to drop in without your project, no problem! We have a bag with yarn, hooks, needles, and books for learning and experimentation. If you're not sure this is your cup of tea (or cawfee), stop by and say hello. The stakes are low, and we celebrate all creative projects! This is a truly relaxed and enjoyable crowd. We believe in teaching/learning yarn crafting the old-fashioned way: by sitting next to someone and passing along the secrets. This isn't a class, but we are always enthusiastic about sharing the skills we have. (And if we don't have the skills, we will look up the skills on YouTube and learn them with you!) While our meetup isn't a class, we're all about building skills together!

What we're about

We love our yarn, and we love hanging out together. We’d also love it if you’d bring your yarn and hang out with us. Do you knit? Do you crochet? Do you spin your own yarn? Do you embroider? How about needlepoint? We won’t judge. The important thing is that we get together in Bay Ridge (y’know, near the end of the R line in Brooklyn) to have lovely conversations while doing our yarn craft thing. The core of our group represents knitting and crochet equally, so we won’t have any rivalries. Our group members also love to help out, so feel free to bring your troubled projects, your snarled yarn-balls, and that thing you made that you just can’t get around to blocking. (Seriously. One of us actually enjoys blocking.)

Did I mention that we’re personable? We are. We like people. (Ok. One of us doesn’t like people as a group, but really enjoys them individually.) We welcome moms and dads, the whole LGBTQ+ community, young folks, elders, believers, non-believers, folks from here, folks from there, and everyone who doesn’t want to sit in these word-buckets. Just come and be human with us.
