  • C+ 12-14 mph. Shut up legs! - 60 miles + 3000 ft climbing

Join Ann and Shayne on a C+ challenge as part of the 'Shut up legs' series, this route is 60 miles and with 2934 feet of + elevation. I’d really like to welcome and encourage C+ riders who perhaps are put off by hills but want to stretch themselves. This ride will be in a supportive environment and there is no pressure on you, just do the climbs at your own pace. The ride will include Brill Hill & Ashendon Hill - we will also offer reps of these hills for those who are interested. It of course, also has some marvellous descents. All the climbs are achievable, and will give you an incredible sense of achievement when you get to the top. We will have a coffee stop, at the George and Dragon in Quainton at 40 miles. Please ensure you bring enough nutrition & water with you to get to 40 miles, its a 2 bottle ride! This is a C+ ride, but this ride is not about speed, this ride is about a sense of achievement in tackling some challenging climbs. However, when we are not climbing we will be riding at C+ pace in a group. You will do the climbs at your own pace, so no pressure. No-one ever gets left behind! We will always re-group at the top. Due to the nature of the ride, this ride is not suitable for beginners. Also, we do not welcome riders who want to push the pace beyond C+ pace and this ride may come in towards the lower end of C+ range, so please understand this if you decide to join. There are loads of other lovely rides for you to join if you want to ride faster or flatter! We start from Chaineys using the redways to get to Kingsmead then out through Whaddon, Mursley, Winslow, Kingswood, Brill, Upper Winchendon, Quainton, then back via Winslow the way we headed out. Please note I can not guarantee the return time, as I can not predict the likelihood of mechanicals etc. BCG welcomes both female and male cyclists and we have a mix of women and men right across all our categories. IMPORTANT: You ride at your own risk, helmets must be worn and lights must be used after dusk. Paid members are covered by 3rd party liability insurance. Non members are only covered up to three rides with the group after which you must become a paid member to continue riding with the group.
