Give your English a fresh coat of paint. Tell a story, describe your way or other ways of painting, talk about a specific period of art history which fascinates you,...and do it all in English while you're painting. Being creative through painting, together with expressing yourself verbally through English, will help develop more out-of-the-box ways of expressing yourself. With half the world still using English, making contacts can be easier if you're at ease with English. If you are a painter, or have always imagined yourself to be one, this can be your group of choice. In my personal atelier, small groups of maximum three people will paint and talk in English.
This session will involve discussing a news item in English. Tasks will focus on language, discussion of vocabulary items, sharing opinions related to specific questions about the text, and listening comprehension. Listening comprehension and speaking will be the skills practiced. You will work on your painting activity at the same time. You will use primary yellow, magenta (primary red) and cyan (primary blue), plus white and black to mix your color palette. The colors will be non toxic acrylics. Water to dilute will be available. The paint material (colors, small vodka glasses for the colors, recyclable mixing dishes, mixing wooden batons, kitchen paper) will be available. You'll need clothing which you can dirty. You will also be able to include sand and clay in your work. You will paint on white gessoed canvas laid flat on the floor and fixed. There will be cardboard and bubble plastic to make sitting more comfortable. Each of you will have your own surface to paint on, which will be 60x60xcm.
4 people maximum for this session, so make sure you get in quickly. Contribution towards cost of material (canvas, acrylics, sand, clay, recyclable mixing dishes): 5€ per person. If you have any other questions not covered here, please send an email to Mario ([masked])
