The 3D virtual globe SDK developed by ESA and NASA. Presented by Claudia Ifrim Software Engineer la EOS CODE LAB. Web World-Wind is a free, open-source 3D virtual globe written in JavaScript and developed by ESA and NASA. Web World-Wind provides a complete set of features for geographical visualization including imagery and terrain, as well as a rich collection of shapes. It allows displaying and interacting with geographical or geo-located information in 3D and 2D in any modern web browser. We have an amazing JavaScript API with a good documentation for developers and we want to let them know how we can make their life easier! 🎤 19:45 - Running Remote Code Execution as a Service. Presented by Ives van Hoorne, Co-founder at CodeSandbox.io and Bogdan Luca, Dev & ops at CodeSandbox.io CodeSandbox is an online code editor tailored for web application development. We allow people to create projects on our website and we show a preview of what they write. For this, we need to evaluate the code. Until recently we did this solely by executing the code in the browser, but recently we started to run the code on the server as well. During this session, we will talk about how we made it possible to run any arbitrary on on-demand servers. We will discuss what challenges we faced and how we solved them. We will also give a sneak peek into what we will do in the future to make this service better. 🍕& 🍺20:30 - Outro & networking =========================================================== Don't miss this one and feel free to invite 1-2 friends that might be interested in joining the meetup. • January BucharestJS Meetup

    TechHub Bucharest

2018 is here and so is January BucharestJS Meetup! Since this is the first meetup of the year, I’d like to invite you to talk about JS, open-source projects, plan the year ahead and … have a great time together! We also have two awesome talks that you do not want to miss: • 19:00 - Intro • 19:15 - How to Unit Test your React/Redux App by Alin Pandichi React and Redux took the world by storm. These JavaScript libraries allow you to write applications consisting of reusable components while avoiding bugs related to side-effects. But I suspect that developers do not unit test their React/Redux code. Or at least not as much as they could. During this talk, I will showcase the unit tests we have written for our eventriX product. These tests run fast and cover the most important aspects of our client-side code running in the browser. These practical real-world examples could inspire you to write more and better unit tests for your own React/Redux application. • 19:45 - WebDollar: A Peer-to-Peer Blockchain directly in WWW by Budisteanu Ionut Alexandru Started at JSHacks 2017 - The Blockchain Edition, WebDollar is a Browser (WEB) Peer-to-Peer version of cryptocurrencies that would significantly increase the worldwide adoption in order to receive and send payments online directly from one party to another one without going through a financial institution, while the confirmations of transactions are without a Web Server/RPC intermediary that may present security risks. • 20:30 - Closing remarks & networking =========================================================== Don't miss this one and feel free to invite 1-2 friends that might be interested in joining the meetup.
