Buckeye Trail Work Party in the Mogadore Section

Come join us for a work party September 14th - 18th as we continue to build the Buckeye Trail at West Branch State Park around the Michael J Kirwan Reservoir. We will be meeting at the back meadow of the horse camp area at 8:00am each morning. Coordinates for the road leading to the horse camp. N 41° 8.901' W 81° 8.238'. If you want to camp out the entire 5 days you can arrive as early as Friday night, September 13th, after 6:00. The gate leading to the camping area will be unlocked and open by then. Camping is free for anyone attending. The campsites we will be staying at are at the very end of the horse camp road. Just over 2 miles from the bridle trail day use parking lot. There is no electricity available at these campsites and only non potable water from a hand pump so plan accordingly.

This is a Chuck Wagon event. Meals will be provided at no charge to the first 20 volunteers to sign up at least three days before the event. Contact Jay Holwick, holwick@columbus.rr.com to make your meal reservation.

Even if you can only make it for one of the days your help would be appreciated. Anyone helping out will be able to use the West Branch campground showers to clean up at the end of the day. All tools will be provided. You will need to bring your own food if you have not signed up for the Chuck Wagon. Please bring enough of your own water for days you will be there.

We have a great time at these work parties, come join us for the fun and a little or hopefully a lot of trail building.

This week we will continue building the trail heading west from the horse camp and if we have enough volunteers a group of us can hike the section East of the horse camp and make sure that is clear.

If you have any questions or want more information let me know.
