This Meetup is for people who like to play or want to learn to play medium to heavy-weight strategy board games. These are games where you are balancing resources, following a particular strategy based on what you have in hand, or trying to plan moves ahead. They usually take 20-40 minutes to learn and 2-4 hours to play. Examples include Terraforming Mars, The Castles of Burgundy, Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar, Eclipse, A Feast for Odin, Clans of Caledonia, or Dinosaur Island. Dense, thematic cooperative games such as Space Cadets, Dead of Winter, or Mansions of Madness are also welcome. If it's got a lot of pieces, has many avenues to success, and takes some thinking - we want to play it.
Game nights are held at a business after hours in Doylestown.
This is also a social group - atmosphere is light, teaching new players expected, and snacks and drinks near the table are welcome, unless the game owner says otherwise.
NEW LOCATION! BMSBG member Joshua Quinn is letting use his office in Doylestown after hours. It's a perfect layout for gaming. So let's get something epic to the table. A few games in my stack include: Teotihuacan (pictured); A Feast for Odin; Clans of Caledonia; Terraforming Mars; Terra Mystica; and Zombicide Black Plague. Let's use the Comments to share what you are going to bring or ask if someone has a particular game in their library.
Food and drink are welcome, especially if you didn't get to catch dinner before coming to game.
Please arrive on time but not too early. Games are on the 2nd floor and to the left.
I ask $1 to defray costs.
