"Oren Jay Sofer in Montclair" - Special Event
Let's come together to see how mindfulness practice provides a powerful support for clear, kind and effective conversations. Join author and Dharma teacher Oren Jay Sofer for "Say What You Mean: Living Our Values," an exploration of how spiritual practice provides a foundation for bringing more compassion, clarity and connection into our speech and relationships. Oren will offer teachings from his new book, "Say What You Mean: A Mindful Approach to Nonviolent Communication." The evening will include a guided meditation, Dharma talk, time for discussion and a book signing. Oren guest teaches at Insight Meditation Society and Barre Center for Buddhist Studies in Barre, MA, as well as, at Spirit Rock in CA. He is a long time student of Joseph Goldstein, Michele McDonald and Ajahn Sucitto and is a graduate of the IMS - Spirit Rock Vipassana Teacher Training. Oren lived as an Anagaika (renunciate) at branch monasteries in the Ajahn Chah Thai Forest lineage for over two years and has practiced meditation in the Theravada Buddhist tradition since 1997.     Let's come together to meditate and listen to renowned teachers speak about Mindfulness and the Dhamma. Since March, 2017 Oren Sofer and Ven Bhikkhu Bodhi's evenings were well attended and enjoyed.
