93 Honorine Dr, Depew, NY
Our group has been given exclusive access to Reinstein Woods after-hours for the Wolf Moon. This full Moon appeared when wolves howled in hunger outside the villages. It is also known as the Old Moon. To some Native American tribes, this was the Snow Moon, but most applied that name to the next full Moon, in February.
The host has limited the number of participants for safety reasons and Reinstein Woods rules. Dogs are not permitted in the preserve. We leave promptly at 6:30 pm so please plan to arrive 15 minutes earlier. Sunset is 5:03 and Moon rise is 5:41! Thanks! I've included some photos from 2016 walks - moon rise behind cloud cover, and moon over frozen pond. Please scroll down to read about the meetup.
We will meet in the parking lot and depart promptly. If there is no cloud cover it should be spectacular! People do not generally need flashlights for a full moon walk.
We will walk approximately 3 miles in about 1-1/2 - 2 hours.
If you would like to thank Friends of Reinstein Woods for allowing us to be there on our own that evening and in appreciation for all the group does to maintain this wonderful haven, a voluntary donation may be made the evening of the event.

Please be respectful of those on the wait list and, if you cannot attend - barring last-minute illness or emergency - let us know at least one day in advance. Thank you!
