The following are photos from the Dec. 4th trek courtesy of fellow Day Hikers. View slide show on that day.
Something new..... please bring identification, health care information and emergency contact information. Let's be prepared should an emergency occur. We will not be close to the cars so we should be ready for anything. We will plan to hike about 6+ miles. We will start out from the warming hut walking south east and when we enter the woods we will walk north to the northern boundary. Then, walk west, but soon turn south to follow the ravine back to the car bridge. Medium work out - we stop frequently; some hills. Not a hike for a first-timer because of distance. We will definitely stop for lunch so bring food. We'll snowshoe if there's snow, and hike otherwise.
Be prepared for the seasonal weather changes and roots, etc. There could be snow, rain, mud! Wear layers for warmth, bring water, lunch and snacks; trekking poles, micro spikes, snowshoes, etc. I reserve the right to refuse hikers if I feel you are unprepared for the weather.
As always, please check your calendar for conflicts when you rsvp and try not to double-book. This hike will stay open until hike time, so it is expected that you change your rsvp a couple days prior to the hike to give other interested people an opportunity to go. Cancelling at the last minute prevents wait-listers from going. Thank you! Let's have fun.
We leave promptly at 10:30 so plan to arrive at about 10:15 a.m.
