Meet at the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center. Free parking is available next to the Center.

    Part 1 - Gorge Hike

Beginning with 4 excellent outlook points along the Railway Trail, this trail provides stunning views of the American Falls through the arch of the Rainbow Bridge. We'll end under the Whirlpool bridge before heading back the way we came.

This is an easy 2.2 mile out and back hike. Parts of the trail are muddy and slick so wear sturdy shoes.

Part 2 - Niagara Falls Walk

We will continue by walking along the Niagara River to Niagara Falls, becoming tourists in our own city. We'll cross over to Goat Island and walk the perimeter, enjoying close up views of both the US and Canadian falls. This portion of the outing is slightly more than 4 miles. It may be wet and slick, especially close to the falls, so be sure to wear appropriate gear.

    Leashed dogs are permitted.

JR and Laura - It's coming up correctly on my computer but not on my phone. Yes, it should be the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center, right across Robert Moses Parkway from the Niagara Aquarium.

Due to too much Snow, I will not make it.

Sorry to hear that Nancy. It's been pretty snow-free to the north.

I was really looking forward to my first outing with the group, but unfortunately I was called into work. Sorry about the late notice. I hope I can make it to another one soon!

  • Greg P.

Sorry to bail on short notice. I probably won't be able to arrive by the start time. Have a good time.

  • Ann

Over worked myself today decorating...took a short 2 mile walk and my knee is acting up again...better not take the chance...sorry for the short notice...I was all geared up for this hike too...hopefully next weekend

I already signed up for another meet up when I was on wait list

If anyone else is having problems with the Meetup map for this location, just put the Niagara Aquarium in your gps. You may park on Whirlpool Street, just to the west of the Aquarium and walk over the walkway across Robert Morris Parkway that takes you right to the Discovery Center. There is a large sign there to guide you.

Hi Connie, want to confirm that meet place tomorrow. Is it on Niagara gorge discovery center? The pin drop on the map is at the devil's hole park. Thanks!

  • Suzanne R.

Hi Connie, My GF is having a holiday brunch, so I'm off the waitlist... but please consider this hike again!! The Gorge is such a great place to hike! Happy Holidays!!

Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday! If you can't make it, please be sure to update your RSVP so those on the wait list may attend.

Also, it looks like we've got snow in the forecast and it's pretty cold there anyway with the mist from the falls so be sure to dress warmly. As it gets icy near the Falls in these temperatures, I highly recommend you wear winter traction devices like Microspikes or Yaktrax on this outing.
