Lake Erie State Park is located along the southern shores of Lake Erie in the heart of western New York's grape belt. Established in 1928, this 355 acre park offers breathtaking views from the high bluffs along the parks three-quarter mile long shoreline. Visitors can camp in one of the park's 99 campsites or 10 cabins and enjoy lovely treed picnic areas among the parks rolling hills. Lake Erie State Park has been selected as one of America's Top 100 Family Campgrounds and one of America's Top 10 Bird Watching Spots.Geography:
Lake Erie State Park is located on the Lake Erie shoreline in Chautauqua County, less than ten miles from Dunkirk to the east and Westfield to the west.
Visitors can enjoy picnicking, hiking, biking, fishing and lounging on the beach. The park also offers playgrounds, volleyball courts, a baseball field, a basketball half-court and horseshoe pits.
The park features a beach, cabins, rustic and electric campsites, showers, picnic areas with grills, pavilions, a dump station and playgrounds.
Nearby state parks include Evangola, Midway and Long Point on Lake Chautauqua. Lake Erie State Park is located in the middle of the Chautauqua Wine Trail, not far from the world-renowned Chautauqua Institution.
