Dinner Theater "GET SMART" at Sheridan-Parkside Theater (optional turkey dinner)

IN MEMORY OF SYED, who loved seeing these plays.

"Get Smart," a bright comedy-satire play, adapted by Christopher Sergel from the 1960's TV series by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, needs no introduction for anyone old enough to remember the 1960's hilarious sitcom! In this marvelous spy-spoof Maxwell Smart stumbles into action to stop the sinister organization known as KAOS from blowing up the Statue of Liberty!

Play Synopsis:

"Would you believe that seven police boats are closing in on us right now?" asks Maxwell Smart (famous American spy) to the head of KAOS (Mr. Big) who now holds him captive. When the master criminal finds this a little hard to accept, the straight-faced Smart asks, "Would you believe six?" Maxwell Smart is off on a bizarre new case in which he must stop the sinister organization known as KAOS from their most shameful plot. Their plan this time is to prove their power by blowing up the Statue of Liberty! This is too much, and Smart springs—perhaps we should say stumbles—into action. Magnificently assisted by beautiful Agent 99, Smart proceeds from one gigantic blunder to another—each, however, somehow turning into a master stroke. This is the ultimate spoof of all secret agent thrillers!

Cost of show is discounted to $7 with my special group rate (normally $12). New to this theater is the dinner option before the show on opening night. This will be a "holiday turkey dinner."  The cost for our group for show and turkey dinner is $17, however, you have to pre-purchase the dinner option by November 28th. When you RSVP, please post if you will be attending dinner before the show.

Good, was worried that the count that I told them would attend dinner may have been way off. I think normally they'd make us pre pay for the dinner ticket but she let it go for us.

Crystal both the dinner and the play were good. In February they are having roast beef opening night and then I believe in April they are having chicken cordon bleu

Ladies, please tell me how the play and turkey dinner were! You can write me privately if you want. I especially am interested about the play, since I didn't make it back from Canada in time, and wonder if it's worth going to on another evening/matinee while it is still playing.

Is it too late to RSVP for dinner? I did enough cooking this week and last. It would be nice to break bread with all of you in Syed's memory.💖

Haven't checked for Meetup events for a while, so I'm late to the party, so to speak, to get in on dinner. But if anyone prepays, Crystal, and then finds they can't come at the last minute, I'll take their spot and reimburse for dinner--ok?

    November 28

    • Crystal

Hi Diane, you can still get in on the dinner if you are sure you're going to be there. I am going to give them a count with your names so you can pay that night.

      November 28

  • Crystal

If you want the turkey dinner before the show, you must prepay by November 28th. Please let me know so I can give you payment arrangements.

Hello Ladies, I will be attending an event I really want to go to on Dec. 2nd. I can leave this meetup available to the rest of you, if you prefer to go on opening night when they have the turkey dinner. It all depends if I decide to stay overnight at my other event on Friday. I can reschedule this for another date for myself and anyone else that wants to go a different date (Dec. 3, 4, 9, 10, or 11). But there wouldn't be the turkey dinner option on those nights. It's up to you. I haven't "technically announced" this meetup yet, even though I had entered it on the schedule, so I'm not sure what to do.

    November 13

  • Sharon

I am interested in the turkey dinner.

    November 13

    • Crystal

Ok, I might not be able to attend on the 2nd. But you guys dont need me. If I can't go on the 2nd, I will have a 2nd date option for those that don't go on the 2nd.

      November 13

  • Donna

Depending what time dinner is, I would be interested. I work til 4:30

    November 6

    • Crystal

OK, I will let you know soon.

      November 6

  • Beverly H.

I possibly would be interested in dinner after details are posted.
