Get out and paddle - Maverick Mondays 2017

  • Needs a location

  • Please note: due to the Labor Day holiday, more than likely this will be a MORNING paddle.
  • Now you have a reason to look forward to Mondays! Get out and Paddle Maverick Monday's is our unorthodox solution to escape the madness of any given Monday.

During Buffalo's warm season, each week between Memorial Day to Labor Day we'll be posting a new location in and around Buffalo with exciting paddles. Some of our hot spot locations will include paddles to Strawberry Island, Grass Island, Outer Harbor, Buffalo River, Oak Orchard, Lake Ontario, etc. just to name a few.

Level of experience will be included before each Monday's paddle based on weather and launch location.

As always, everyone please plan to wear your US Coast Guard approved Personal Floatation Device and have a whistle at the ready to participate in any of our paddle events. If your PFD is too uncomfortable to wear, than you have the wrong size and I suggest looking into getting a new one before attending. If you have lights for your kayak, please bring them as a precaution. All around 360 white light is preferred. USCG also approves of oar powered vessels may elect to operate with an electric flashlight or lantern as well.

Bad weather on Mondays will push our meetup to Tuesday as a makeup day. Notifications will be sent.

How the attending list works. Each week is set for RSVP maximum list of attending. Some paddles will be opened up for more or even unlimited attendees. The numbers are derived for safety precaution, as well as launch site location, paddle area restrictions, waterway accommodating, etc. As we get closer to the date, if you have RSVP'd yes and cannot attend, please change your RSVP to NO which allows the first person on the waitlist to take your spot. If there are repeat offenders that have RSVP yes and are a "No show" continuously - you will be removed from our group. Please change your RSVP accordingly.

As always, by participating in this or any other of our Buffalo Paddle People meetup paddles is always your own choice and at your own risk. By participating in one of our paddle meetup's, you, your family member's and your guests' (all participants) fully understand and accept all risks and agree to forever release, hold harmless and indemnify BPP and activity organizers, as well as their families, from any injury, damages or death resulting from participation in an activity. To the fullest extent allowed by law, you agree to WAIVE, DISCHARGE CLAIMS, AND RELEASE FROM LIABILITY the BPP Meetup group and its organizers from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from injuries, personal or property, and while participating in or travelling to or from the activity.

In short, by participating in a BPP activity you accept and assume all risks and full responsibility for losses, costs and damages for yourself, your children and your guests.

    See you on the water!
