This is a very authentic Chinese-Korean restaurant that I found a few months ago. They have two menus, one Korean and one Chinese Schezuan. This is not your Americanized version of Asian food.
The restaurant has a great feel to it, the service is excellent and the owners are extremely nice. Kim and I went there one night with Edgar and Joane and every dish was unique, full of delicious spices and flavors. One thing to note about this restaurant is their serving sizes are very very LARGE. I mean huge! We ordered for 4 but had enough for 8 people. So we need to order accordingly.
Not all dishes are spicy and they'll prepare to taste. They make their own dumplings and noodles which are excellent. Some of their popular dishes are the various dumpling appetizers. Jambong which is a spicy seafood soup with veggies and noodles.
Jja Jang Myuns: (seemed to be on every table) is homemade green noodles in a black bean sauce. Another popular one is fried eggplant which is breaded, soft on the inside and lightly spiced. One Yelp-er described it as "Sweet, salty, sour, spicy, crispy and tender!" Gan Bian Si Ji Dou is green beans, pan seared and topped with pork.
For the more daring of the group: Fuqi Feipian which is Husband and Wife Lung Slices: Pieces of beef lung and brisket marinated in chili oil, topped with cilantro. (go for it Dave F).
They have such a variety of dishes, that we will eat family style so we can explore as many as possible. The owners have offered to help us select items if needed. We will split the food bill per table.
We are going to hold this one on a Saturday night so we can leisurely enjoy the vast amount of food and great conversation that BHF is known for. Cold beer and wine is available, so please run your own tab for your drinks.
We have 3 tables for 8 reserved in front of the open glass kitchen. This will be a treat since we will be able to watch the Chefs preparing the food.
