What we're about
The Burgay Club commemorates the life and work of E.J. Burgay (http://1218929.toastmastersclubs.org/EJBurgay.html), the first woman and the first person who was blind to win the World Championship of Public Speaking. It has two missions:
to foster growth of its membersto assist the District and clubs within the District
The club provides an opportunity to:
• meet and consult with experienced leaders from various fields;
• participate in interesting projects and receive valuable mentoring and constructive feedback on plans and performance;
• sharpen leadership skills and prepare for Advanced Leader positions within the District; and,
• receive formal and informal mentoring from the Burgay Club and its associates.
A requirement for joining an Advanced Club is that the person be a “dual member”—that is that they are already a Toastmaster and retain membership in a non-advanced club.
