Welcome, and thank you for reading about our efforts to help others.

Years ago, I was asked to provide my thoughts on a client buying a business. It was something she had never done before. Watching her learn about it, and her struggles, left me with an interest in helping solo business owners get through the process better and more quickly.

Fast forward a few decades...I'd founded two successful organizations by then (one of which turns around struggling businesses). It was time to "scratch the itch" I got decades ago, by founding a nonprofit which teaches free classes to small business owners.

ALMA Group Care, Inc. is the California nonprofit I founded in 2019, to run and administer these workshops. There are no charges to those attending, and my companies cover all the costs of materials, speakers,space etc. To paraphrase George Foreman, "It's a lean, mean, teaching machine."

Our Meetups, "The Business E/R" are a ninety day series of workshops. Half are dedicated to finding and handling clients, while the other half provides structures to better control your business operations and keep more of the money you earn. Their Meetup url's are:

All attendees need to register at both, please.

The workshops meet on the first and third Tuesday of the month (a total of ten meetings), with includes at least one guest speaker. There is light homework between workshops. Each workshop is small and private - in fact we have members sign a privacy agreement so all feel safe in sharing information about their businesses. We also encourage members to continue sharing with each other after the workshops have concluded.

There are two teachers in the room for each workshop. I teach the client/revenue workshops and Mindy Morrision the founder of Back Office People, Inc. runs the operational sections. We will compare and contrast our thoughts on the material during the meeting, so don't expect these to be dull lectures!

The month that has a fifth Tuesday will be set aside for a guest speaker. Their subject matter will be determined by where the date falls in the cycle of Tuesdays. For example, our first guest speaker will be on 10/29/2019.
