If you are a busy woman who is introverted, scared to try new things, known to have type A tendencies, a perfectionist, and feel like you are going to have a nervous breakdown when things don’t go as planned…….GOOD NEWS! YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE! Bonus points if you are an INFJ like me 😆
So let me introduce myself. My name is Natalie and I’m a busy woman who is introverted, scared to try new things, known to have type A tendencies, a perfectionist, and feel like I’m going to have a nervous breakdown when things don’t go as planned. Actually I should say, I USED to be all the above (although those things do creep back in on occasion. Work in progress!).
Over the years I have experienced life in very challenging ways. I found myself in very difficult situations and didn’t have the skillset to emotionally handle them. I would turn to my friends and family for emotional support (that’s what you’re supposed to do, right?) and I would still feel like shit. I found out the hard way that friends and family want your SAFETY not your EXCELENCE. Hmmmm……let that sink in for a minute.
I needed to add people to my support system that wanted my EXCELENCE. In order for me to be the person I really wanted to be I needed to be challenged, and my current support system wasn’t doing that.
This inspired me to expand my network and start shaking up my life a bit. I found it VERY difficult to meet new people locally so I went online which was great, but I had no one local to connect with.
The good thing is that all the people I networked with online convinced me to help other women do what I did….TURN OFF AUTOPILOT AND DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. You don’t have to just survive. You can actually have a lot of fun and live stress free (most of the time).
So I started doing local workshops to introduce me to new people, enhance my ability to help others, and support as many women in our community as I can. When I was in a really shitty emotional place, I wish I could have found a group like this with women like you to help me get through the crap.
I was too SCARED to go to a random meetup group or support group. It’s super intimidating!!!!!!! No worries, here. I will make sure EVERYONE feels comfortable prior to the events and of course you can always bring someone with you (even if they aren’t interested) until you get comfortable.
I plan to host at least monthly workshops/meetups (free and fee-based) with interest. Prepare yourself for some week-night events (it’s part of my plan to really stretch you out of your comfort zone). Each workshop will have a theme/activity. I will teach your different ways you can tackle some of the hardest feelings and emotions you are dealing with everyday so you can feel better NOW. I want these meetups to be small and will offer several different times depending on interest (large groups can get very intimidating).
Workshops I’ve done in the past include vision boards and yoga for self-care. I’m currently planning arts and crafts based workshops to promote self-care through creative expression. I’m always open for suggestions as well.
