What we're about

Is this a book club for butlers who live in bedsits? (no. maybe?)

From the manor house to the kitchen sink, from The Way of All Flesh to White Teeth--it's a book club for people who want to talk about 20th century BritLit over coffee/tea/other beverages (or food).

For now, meetings will be held once a month on weekend mornings, with the occasional book-related excursion.

Mrs. Warren's Profession by G.B. Shaw

Online event

First time reading a play! First time for this group, that is. Unfortunately we are still online, but fortunately we are reading Mrs. Warren's Profession and not Pygmalion, so you are spared my Eliza Doolittle impression. Scandalous for 1902, Mrs. Warren's Profession is about money, love, mother-daughter conflict, and the world's second oldest profession. This one is public domain, so it is available for free on Project Gutenberg. More info will be posted closer to the date, and the zoom link will be sent out the day before the meeting.
