What we're about

This is a group for anyone interested in hiking, exploring and being out in nature. All skill levels are welcome. We aim to pick hikes that are fun and manageable for families and new hikers, while still interesting for experienced hikers.

I started this group to meet other families who are interested in hiking and the outdoors. Looking forward to exploring the outdoors with everyone!

Ramapo Mountain State Forest

Please join us for this moderately paced hike through Ramapo Mountain Forest. The route will be typical trails through the woods: mostly dirt with some rocky sections. This hike is an out and back. The last section of the trail is a little more strenuous, but it is not for a long distance - and the views from the top are worth it! One of the highlights of this trail is exploring the ruins of the Van Slyke Castle at the top of the mountain. Meeting Spot: We will meet in the parking lot. There is no admission fee for this park. If the weather is questionable, I will post an update by 11am the morning of the hike.
