Join us for this hands on technical workshop led by Kevin Chen, Founder and Head of the IOTA Evangelist Network, focused on Tangle distributed ledger technology (DLT). The workshop will help you derive the most value sending feeless/immutable data (eg JSON and IDs) through blockchain transactions. We'll help ramp up your data storage using distributed ledger protocols emphasizing scalability and cost effectiveness.

ABOUT: The session will provide an overview comparison of different digital ledger protocols including Hyperledger and Tangle which will be utilized in the session. Data structures behind these will be discussed along with modules extending beyond tokens and cryptocurrency. Demos will be included. Items discussed include:

-Pros and cons of distributed ledger protocols: scalability, cost effectiveness, miners and fees
- Supply Chain and tracking information
- Consensus and weight of transactions
- Decentralized transactions

Use cases and applications: discussion of different industries including medical records and insurance in addition to those tailored for the audience

Pizza will be served during the session.

Some programming experience - basic knowledge Python, JavaScript or Java recommended. Please bring a laptop.

About The Instructor:
Kevin R. Chen is the Founder and COO of INTRA Group, a next-generation mobility testing, validation, and solutions as-a-Service startup. He is also the Founder and Head of the IOTA Evangelist Network (IEN), a global group looking to spread IOTA awareness and adoption in their respective countries. He was previously the Evangelist at the IOTA Foundation, with focus on business development and adoption strategy. Prior to IOTA, Kevin spent several years on Wall Street as a technologist: first at Citigroup Global Markets as an application developer, then at a $3+ billion credit hedge fund Aristeia Capital as a data analyst. He was passively interested in Bitcoin since[masked] but was fully drawn into the blockchain/cryptocurrency space in early-mid 2016 with the rise of Ethereum.
