WORKSHOP: Editorial Fashion Lighting Techniques using Speed-Lights 102a

  • Feb 10, 2013 · 3:00 PM
  • secret address will be provided by email

We have chosen our model for Sunday, please take a look below...

I'm holding our first speed-light workshop this Sunday, Feb 10th, 3-7pm, because we will again have access on that day to a really amazing location in Piedmont. It's like a mini-mansion.

The first half of the class I'll share some of my 12 years experience shooting high fashion editorials for magazines like: Elle, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Tatler, Harper's Bazaar. Many of which were shot with just a couple inexpensive speed-light flashes, and I will show you how you can do the same. Plus we'll have fun in the second half of the class shooting some great images with a professional model and hair/make-up team.

www.saperstein.com

When: Sunday, February 10th, 2013,   3-7pm
Where: We have access to an AMAZING location in Piedmont to shoot in for this event. Address will be given upon rsvp. (for those who came to this location last year, you know how lovely it is, and I promise more shooting time around the house)

We will start the day with an introduction to get to know everyone. If you bring in 5 of your best images on CD or USB key, we will give you a short portfolio review and some personal advice on what each person needs to work on. The first half of the day will be an educational discussion about the fashion industry, model/hair/makeup/styling tips, and how to get your speed-lights off your camera and achieve fantastic high end editorial images using some easy to learn lighting techniques.

The second half of the day will be spent taking turns shooting our professional model (pics and link below). We have an amazing location for this shoot, so exclusive that I can only give out the address after people rsvp.

LIMITED SPACE, SIGN UP SOON, BEFORE SPACE IS FULL!

We are lucky to get to shoot with the beautiful fashion model:

  • Lorretta

Yes, I too can't make it and would like to do this particular workshop. Hopefully it will be repeated.

    February 9, 2013

    • Leon

Hi Lorretta, welcome to our group. We will have similar workshops every month. I hope you can join one of them. If you want a "Speed-Light" class but don't want to wait for that specific class to repeat, you can join one of our "portfolio review" nights and stay after class a few minutes to pick my brain for advice. See you then, Leon

Has anyone else received the location for today's event yet??

    February 10, 2013

    • Leon

Hi Glenn, I did send everyone an email titled "address info..." two days ago, and again today. If you can't locate the email please call me (call me if you get lost on your way also): [masked]

    February 3, 2013

    • Leon

Hi Robert, sorry you can't make it, we will miss you next week. We are planning more workshops for the months to come. Hopefully we will have one or two per month (excluding months I am away working in Paris or New York). Please keep in touch about future workshops, and feel free to make some suggestions. Thanks.

What is the required equipment we need to bring? (Besides camera)? Thanks.

    February 3, 2013

    • Leon

Thanks for the interest. There are no "requirements". We have equipment that students can use to learn on, including spare cameras if you don't even have a camera. I do recommend bringing your own equipment you can learn with and ask questions about. By the way, the fee imcludes a model release signed by the model. Hope you can make it to our event.
