This year's annual Kieron Drum memorial trip will be doing something slightly different and this is early warning. Firstly, it will be on 1 June. Now as we know Kieron was a pioneer in beer, especially in London, always keen to try new beer and places. With that in mind, this will be a day offering something a little different.
Matt has been in touch with Beavertown in North London. They open up their Tempus project once a month. Beavertown have set aside a "wild" space in which beers ferment naturally in wooden casks, etc, for extended periods, see www.beavertownbrewery.co.uk/tempus-project-taproom/. This is interesting to say the least, though of course may not be to everyone's taste and indeed pocket (£7.50 entrance includes first drink). There are only 30 places per session and only 2 sessions a month.
The plan is to spend the maximum 2 hours there, go to the Pressure Drop brewery (in the same industrial estate) and then down to Highbury to some decent pubs, including the Hammerton tap. If you don’t fancy Tempus then there will be an alternative suggested route and we will all rendezvous in Highbury late afternoon.
We won’t be booking you in at Tempus = you will do that yourself, but we will provide details in due course so you can book online (you can’t book yet). Meghan at Beavertown has said she will try and help by pencilling in a few places, but she can’t reserve due to demand. Matt will let us know when you we can book as Meghan will tell him. However to assist it would be useful if you could indicate if you fancy Tempus and we can give her a FIRM idea of numbers.
PLEASE CAN YOU LET US KNOW BY FEB 26 IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO THE TEMPUS OPTION?
