TOMBO TOURS Lake Crabtree/Umstead Park day trip

Lake Crabtree has the biggest and best Pump Track in the region (in fact they have two), plus a very nice Skills Area and 5 miles of mellow singletrack. Down by the lake, you'll find a connector trail leading to Umstead State Park and 13 miles of easy doubletrack winding through the forest. For some, Umstead's real attraction is exploring the many non-sanctioned trails that riddle the hardwood hollows. Right or wrong, these renegade trails with their scavenged bits and pieces are testament to the tenacity and creativity of urban trailbuilder's art.

$50 per person, includes lunch, snacks, coffee, water, Gatorade.
Depart 7am from Walmart parking lot on Market St.
Return by 6 or 7p
Group Option: Dinner at Stevenson's BBQ in Willow Springs. It's on the way home and its good Q.

We’ll have a large cooler filled with ice if you care to bring additional beverages.
All you need is your bike, helmet, spares and a change of clothes for the ride home.
