Overview of the HUD Closing Process
Janet Hocker, Attorney, Hocker & Associates

Janet Hocker, Attorney with Hocker & Associates, will speak about the HUD process, in general (ie: what makes a home a ?HUD home?). She will also discuss the general structure of HUD?s processes on a State level and how the process works for the buyer, from the bid to the closing stage. The presentation will conclude with a Q&A session.

Lara Morgan, Marion County Health Department

Lara Morgan, Team Leader with the Marion County Health Department Housing & Neighborhood Health, will be discussing the different kinds of violations that they look for during an inspection. Lara will also discuss the types of orders that they issue and how they may differ for properties. She will further discuss the steps that they take to enforce the Marion County Health Code, Chapters 10 and 19. She will also discuss Indiana Code[masked], which applies to unsafe buildings.
