Open invite to hike the Three Lakes Trail in Morgan-Monroe State Forest (rain or shine). The hike is a 'nice', 10 mile distance with several 'decent' climbs. I consider it a hike of moderate difficulty; but I have seen it described as 'rugged' because of the 10 mile distance. It's a loop trail (like the Low Gap).
This is a great hike for beginners who haven't attempted a long distance day hike. It is definitely a workout, especially for us Hoosiers. Keys to success on this day hike are to start slowly, pace yourself and conserve your strength for the 'big finish' and to stay fed and hydrated on the trail.
Meet at the Bryant Creek Lake Shelter.
This invite will repeat all year. Looking forward to seeing the changes in scenery with the changes in the seasons.
