Subject: [webdesign-396] Wordpress Course

Some of yall may have noticed that I have suddenly become a HUGE fan of WordPress. Heidi Cool's presentation today emphasized for me even more how much I love it, as I wept tears of joy when she showed on a very large monitor how damned easy it is to use widgets.

Hell, I'm tearing up now thinking about it [wipes tear away...] And no I'm probably not joking. I've fragged around with about thirty content management systems in tests trying to find one I like. And Wordpress just makes everything so easy, from the front end, to the dashboard, to theming, to creating plugins. I Love it. Soooo..

I'd already been talking to a few folks about my plans to run a WordPress course. If I run it, the course would include WordPress installation, management, posting, Wordpress as a content management system (it's not just for blogging), how to find, install and modify themes, how to create your own themes, how to find and install plugins, how to create your own plugins, widgets, creating your own widget areas in a theme, shortcodes, manipulating the wordpress dashboard by creating your own menus and pages within it, modifying existing dashboard pages and how to integrate wordpress with PHP, Krudh, COBOL, MySQL, WordPress Multisite, tags, categories, links, post types, taxonomies (thanks to Heidi Cool for finally helping me understand just what the Odin's Eyebrows those were) and much more. Essentially everything WordPress.

So yeah this will be far more than your basic how to write a blog post course. Tired yet? I am. :D

Now I'm throwing out feelers to see who would be interested in such a course because that's going to determine if and when I run the course. So who is interested?

Kind Regards,
Aoirthoir Von Very Tired and Going To Bed Sooneth.
