CWD&DMG Happenings...

We have a lot of exciting things happening with The Cleveland
Web Design and Development Meetup Group. We've had lots
of growth over the past year and a lot changes as well.

Our study groups have taken off and they are finally settling down
to a format and becoming better organized.

We're also at the stage that we will be conducting workshops
with specific goals in mind, such as our upcoming MySQL
workshop starting in September, geared towards MySQL

We've begun to lay the plans for an Unconference to take
place in the coming months.

Along with other meetup organizers, we're working more with personnel so that the site can more specifically
meet our growing needs.

We're preparing to engage other groups, businesses, schools,
and associations so that we can combine our educational
and advocacy efforts. Part of this initiative is that we will
begin posting events from other groups. I will have a form
to fill out, so that I can have the exact information that sponsors
of any web related events to post on our calendar.

We're about to release some information on the offer we
received from Safari for their online library.

Speaking of Libraries, we're discussing plans to implement
two libraries of our own. A user driven book library, so we
can just pass around books amongst each other. Also a
laptop library. These would be very cheap, used laptops
that we would make available for study group attendees
that don't have access to a computer, or a laptop, but
still wish to participate. Some will be for use on-site,
while others will be able to be checked out. We're discussing
sponsorship for this with one company now, and perhaps
more to follow.

So summer has seen a lot of activity with our group.

Thanks to all that are helping along the way.

Kind Regards,
Joseph James Frantz
