            I investigated the idea of a version of gimp that looks like photoshop. good news. its called gimpshop and can be installed on linux, mac, and windows OS's. download can be found at http://gimpshop.com. I just succesfully installed gimpshop on windows and it seems pretty simalar, but will definitly take some getting used to.  to be continued...
