This is a group for lesbians** into the fiber arts (quilting sewing, knitting, crocheting, spinning, weaving, tatting, etc.). You can be a beginner or a veteran crafter! We will have semi-monthly meetups at local coffeehouses, and, if there is interest and energy, trips to craft events in the Metro Atlanta area and beyond. Meetings will be relaxed "stitch and bitch" gatherings -- if your craft is portable, bring it with you, and if it's not quite portable, come anyway!!
**This group is open to all lesbian-identified women, and women who consider themselves allies of lesbians. We are inclusive of transwomen and welcoming.
Beginners might want to bring a "starter kit" in their preferred craft ... a skein of light-colored yarn (worsted weight - there will be an icon with a number 4 in it) and EITHER an I-9 crochet hook (for crocheters) OR a pair of # 7, 8 or 9 knitting needles (for knitters). We'll help you get started stitching!
We always "pass the basket" at each meeting for voluntary donations to help pay the cost of our annual Meetup registration fee, and are grateful for any coins or paper you may put in! (The annual fees are set by meetup at: https://www.meetup.com/pricing/ )
We have meetings twice a month, usually on the First or Second Monday of the month, and the Third or Fourth Thursday of the month, depending on holidays.
