This group is for professionals in the London area who work in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) or related areas, such as Corporate Responsibility, Sustainability, Corporate Citizenship, or fair trade.
We share CSR ideas in a non-corporate, informal environment that promotes open discussion and lively debate. Bimonthly meetings focus on live topics in the CSR world, with guest speakers also identifying practical measures that CSR professionals can take.
We also encourage CSR professionals in our group to meet each other and build their networks.
We follow the formats of the allied CSR Meetup Groups in Geneva, Amsterdam, New York, Mauritius (Port Louis), Athens and Washington DC and work closely with these groups, sharing ideas and resources with the ultimate aim of generating new thinking on what best practice CSR might look like, both in theory and in practice.
The political, regulatory and health dimensions of a legal cannabis sector have received huge attention. But there has been remarkably little done on what a sustainable cannabis sector should look like. I will be joined by two prominent entrepreneurs, investors and commentators to discuss the key sustainability issues facing the sector: • What would a responsible cannabis company and sector look like? • What would be the right mix of certification, regulation and best practice to achieve that? • What can we learn from other sectors about the marketing, supply, cultivation and formulation of cannabis products? • What should investors look for when trying to work out whether they are investing in responsible companies. I will chair a discussion between Toby Shillito - formerly a Director at Business in the Community and a longstanding entrepreneur and investor in cannabis, and Gavin Sathianathan, CEO of Alta Flora, and a non-exec director of Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies, and George McBride, Partner at Hanway Associates, a global cannabis consultancy
