Welcome to our 13th meetup: Sustainability and ethics in fashion

On Wednesday 24th February, our guest speakers will discuss the issues of sustainability and viability in small businesses. Special focus will be placed in responsible fashion and the case for sustainable fashion ventures in the region.

Speaker 1: Dr. Petar Stojanov

Petar will focus on embracing sustainability success factors as tools to enable growth for entrepreneurs and SMEs, along with examples of best-practices and 'do's and don'ts' lessons learnt from industries, as well as nature. Petar will provide tools to identify sustainable market opportunities and capitalise on them, the common risks when one starts their own sustainable venture and common pitfalls to avoid them, along with thoughts on remaining ethical in an economically challenging business environment.

Speaker 2: Ayesha Siddequa

Will speak on responsible fashion and how her venture is supporting the case of sustainable fashion in the region. Utilising her experience in the field, she will raise the issue of responsible fashion practices and awareness in this sector.She will develop the case for sustainable fashion and how this has proven to be an opportunity for many to build a successful business. She will discuss the challenges of being sustainable, ethical and profitable.
