Please bring an iPad 2 or the new iPad, which are the only models that will run the apps we need. (Some iPads will also be available, and participants without iPads may be able to share with those who have them, but we cannot guarantee access to iPads if you don’t bring one.)

COST: $10.00 per participant plus $1.19 reservation fee (receipts & certificates available)
WHO SHOULD COME? STEM teachers (Science-Tech-Engineering-Math) who want to get students engaged, and computer developers and programmers interested in learning about state-of-the-art mobile apps in education.

DESCRIPTION: iPads hold the promise of offering students and faculty powerful tools that are truly mobile and easy to use. In this workshop, come learn about innovative and pedagogically-sound uses of the iPad as a mobile learning tool. We’ll use Vernier Video Analysis and other Apps to create a digital lab report; investigate methods for both deepening understanding of STEM concepts as well as formative and summative assessment strategies; and explore various Apps to support the learning process. We will have some iPads available for participant use, but we cannot guarantee access to an iPad if you don’t have one. If you bring your own, please make sure it is an iPad 2 or the new iPad. You will be provided with a list of Apps to install before the workshop.
