I'll Get Back to You: C# Task, Await, and Asynchronous Methods

There's a lot of confusion about async/await, Task/TPL, and asynchronous and parallel programming in general. So let's start with the basics and look at how we can consume asynchronous methods using Task and then see how the "await" operator can makes things easier for us. Along the way, we’ll look at continuations, cancellation, and exception handling.

The Speaker:

Jeremy Clark makes developers better. By drawing on over 15 years of experience in application development, he helps developers take a step up in their skillset with a focus on making complex topics approachable regardless of skill level. He is a Microsoft MVP for Visual C#, and he has authored seven courses for Pluralsight, including "C# Interfaces", a course aimed at giving developers a clear understanding of abstraction. Jeremy lives in Southern California with 2 cats and a banjo. For more information visit http://www.jeremybytes.com (http://www.jeremybytes.com/).

Entertainment Begins 8:30pm

The Comedian:

Chris Fairbanks is a Missoula, Montana native who has been seen on Conan, Jimmy Kimmel, VH1 & MTV, Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central and TruTV's "World's Dumbest". His album, "Fairbanks!" was named one of Amazon's Top Ten of 2010. Fast paced, quirky, and constantly improvising his act, Chris Fairbanks delivers a truly unique self-observational style.

Musical Guest: Christian Zezza

Christian Zezza comes straight from Italy, to grace us with impressive guitar skills. This artist is to definitely one keep an eye on. He’s all about technique, harmony, impressive diversity in musical styles that you need to be present to experience. We’re lucky to have him while he’s only in the country this month.
