(Support Local Bands) While having Fun!
This group is for anyone who loves to listen and dance to music of legendary rock bands of the 70's 80's & 90's . Including cool R&B and Motown Vibes. ((It doesn't matter what age you are , as long as your old enough -and willing to have fun)). One is never to old to get down and boogie. Also there will be on occasion of other music such as Jazz, Blues, Multicultural, and what one request, so don't be suprised to see something different from time to time. Don't care for the bar scene??? This event is okay to socialize and dance!!!
Meet-up" with us at clubs and bars and hear local bands play real rock music and variety. We are also going to rock concerts and shows followed by post-show get togethers. We will hit only the higher class places.
Take a musical journey to a time when rock bands and music's of sorts ruled-- and-- make new friends along the way!! We will get together through-out Hartford area and beyond throughout Connecticut. Arrive before the band starts so you can hang out with other people who like the same music as you-- Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Earth Wind & Fire, Bon Jovi, Skynyrd, Journey, Steely Dan, Hollies, Doobies, and so many others-Avenue Groove.

Hello Rockers,

We have had an amazing year so far filled with many impressive bands at different venues. Kevin, myself and our many hosts have an exciting fall and winter schedule we are working on.

As the popularity of our events increase and new members join the group, we wanted to establish some guidelines simply intended to make sure that participation in Rock It Out events are safe and fun for everyone. Most of these are common sense and good manners so please don't be put off by them.

EVENT HOSTS - Our mission is to provide a setting so people can have fun in a safe and comfortable manner. Organizers and Hosts are "NOT" paid, we all do what's best for the group, and you probably wouldn't believe how much time it takes to organize a successful event. Please respect this.
ANNUAL DUES - Currently there is NO Annual Dues. However, donations are always welcome.
THE "NOT GOING" OPTION - There is nothing more demoralizing to a host than to post an event and immediately have two people say they are "not going". The purpose of the "not going" option is to cancel a Yes RSVP. Please, only use it for that purpose. Rest assured that if you don't rsvp and don't show up, we know you are not going.
HARASSMENT POLICY - Whether it be sexual, bullying, malicious gossip, unwanted and unsolicited attention, etc. Kevin and I have zero tolerance. Going forward, any such complaints should be directed to Kevin or myself immediately and we will promptly act on it. Boys and girls will always meet, and occasionally sparks will fly, but lets all be adults with proper decorum. We have had a few incidents recently within our group that have made a couple of our members uncomfortable.
EMAIL/MEETUP MESSENGER - Be aware that when you reply to this email or any other group announcement emails you are replying to the entire group. When using the messenger verify who you are sending it to.
SAFETY - Some places we go to are better lit than others. We suggest that when you leave, walk to your car with a friend or ask the event host/other members to accompany you.
DRINK AND DRIVE RESPONSIBLY - We want everyone to have fun, but please be responsible in terms of drinking and driving.
If you are new to meetup be aware that if you signed up via your social media account your first and last name maybe populate to your meetup account. If you are worried about your privacy edit your meetup profile name.
