Dear all,

The next Café Crawl which will take place

on MONDAY, JULY 21 at Café Ypsilon, Berger Strasse 18.

I am sure you are all having an exciting time watching athletic men running for their life after the perfect ball. The fancy looks of the creative supporters in Brasilia while they are going through a wide range of intense emotions in only a couple of hours is equally fascinating and touching to watch.

All in all, I am actually enjoying the world cup myself. What a surprise! My sole problem is that I find it impossible to commit to any team and in fact I would like them all to win. Life is so unfair! Aren’t they all winners?! Sorry guys, I’m French and naive and see La vie en rose ;-)

Aside from football, life is generally exciting these days. Lucky, a fantastic dog seven years of age, has entered our life. Since then I am living in a micro La vie en rose world. Seldom online, I confess that I gradually lost touch to the outside world and missed many important events. Friends and Crawlers got older and wiser (they call this birthdating), some got engaged, others got married, many joined the Meet-up group and never got properly welcomed, some graduated, several turned overnight into expert trainers, the great majority turned into enthusiastic football supporters, never disrespectful towards Germany and other nations … all that thrilling while, I had eyes for my husband and Lucky only. Or was it the other way around? ;-)
My initial intention was to apologize for my online negligence. I have however changed my mind and decided to encourage you all to go offline yourself every once in a while. Now is the perfect time to enjoy life in real time. It’s worth it!

So off liners, keep on rocking, let the ball roll and cu soon for a Crawl on

Looking truly forward to greeting you back! I the midst of my idyll I do miss you at times ;-)

Café Crawl meetings take place every Monday evening in Bornheim (the coolest suburb in Frankfurt of course). It is basically an unpretentious international gathering. The number of participants varies between 30 and 50. The group is easy going and open to everyone. New Comers are very welcome to join us for a drink or two and happy conversations. If you are new ask for Marie-Françoise. I’ll be very happy to introduce you around.
In case you speak German, the following article might give you an idea of the meeting:,1472796,3265996.html

Should you be on Facebook, I strongly recommend joining the group “Café Crawl Bornheim” as this is where the great majority of Café Crawlers interact.
Here is the link:
As of today, 2066 members have joined. Please feel free to post your own events, tips and tricks about Main-Hattan or any other information relevant to expatriates. XING:
As of today, 106 Café Crawlers have joined.
Note that Café Crawlers seldom interact via Xing and that the number of participants to the Café Crawl Xing events is not at all representative ;-).

The group’s presence on Meetup is very recent.

* English/German round table Frankfurt/Main/Germany *
English round table every Friday
Tanja, a joyful Café Crawler from Germany, runs an English/Round table. Judging by Tanja's sparkling way of being, I can easily imagine that this round table is lots of fun.
This is Tanja’s description of the event:
"Are you interested in joining an English/German Round Table? Do you feel like practicing and exchanging your language skills in a nice round of likeable people?
The idea is that of a language swap (we follow the same principles as a tandem except that we are a group): one meet up takes place in English and the next in German. Our English/German Round Table offers you the opportunity to participate to each other's language skills.
The English/German Round Table takes place every week in changing locations. We also like to undertake other activities such as going to the movies or theatre or participating to English guided tours around Frankfurt.
We are easygoing and funny folks. Originally most of us met at the English evening course at the Volkshochschule but meanwhile friends, neighbors and workmates have also joined the English/German Round Table. As for now we are a small group of 6-8 persons which meets regularly and we would be delighted to welcome new comers.
Our target is simply to chat in a relaxing and funny atmosphere with no special topic, the only purpose being to train our English or German skills.
Interested? Simply send me an email or a message over facebook with your mail-address. I will gladly add you to my mailing-list of invitations.
