Refresher to Outdoor Rock Climbing & Social Climbing Event

Howdy there Everyone,

Refresher to Outdoor Rock Climbing & Social Climbing event –FREE for past MSA patrons or $40.00

This course is being hosted by Mountain Skills Academy and instructed by an ACMG guides at a local outdoor climbing area. Venue runs rain or shine.

Intended for anyone that has climbed outdoors before, the course will review important climbing skills and safety.

The refresher is being offered in view of last year’s tragic climbing accidents. The accidents were related to threading the anchor and rappelling. These skills and more will be covered, including tips to improve your climbing and it’s a great social climbing outing as well. Top ropes will be setup on several routes with different grades.

Cost: $40.00 + gst
(This will be waved if you are have taken a course/trip with MSA previously)

Course topics: Assessing anchors, Setting up and cleaning anchors, Rappelling, Hazard Management, Climbing Technique

Rest of the day will be spent practicing and climbing on routes under the supervision of your guide.

Warm Layers
Rain Jacket
Sunglasses and Sunscreen
Sturdy Hiking Shoes or Boots
Minimum 30L Pack to carry all your own gear

Your guide will provide the rest of the gear for the Refresher/Social Climbing. Feel free of course to bring your own rope and draws to set up other routes.
