My name is Kathleen Howell and I am the Producer for Hero Images. We produce industry leading royalty-free photography for the advertising and publishing industries, and we are always looking for people to use in our shoots. A lot of the people we cast have never had their picture taken professionally - just ask any of our friends, co-workers, moms, cousins, etc :-) We like to use 'real' people because it helps us make authentic photos, and really it's just more fun. II posted a casting call on here a couple months ago and had some interest so thought I wanted to let you know that we are planning another open casting call on Tuesday, March 5th. If we saw you in 2012, you don't need to come by again (unless your appearance has drastically changed). If you could please pass on to anyone you think may be interested, that would be great.

Hero Images is looking for people of all ages, races and body types who live in Calgary or the surrounding area.

Date: Tuesday, March 5, 2013
Time: drop in anytime between 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm (it will only take a few minutes & no appointment is necessary)
Location: Rosemont Community Centre, 2807 10 St NW, Calgary, AB
(ample free parking in the parking lot)
Wardrobe: Nice casual. Women should have natural makeup and hair.

The casting call is just to have a couple quick snapshots taken to be considered for our shoots over the next year. When we plan our shoots, we will look through our database of models and cast people who fit into that particular theme. We then contact them (usually a week in advance) to see if they are available and give them information about the upcoming production. We have many productions throughout the year so if you don't hear from us right away, don't worry!

Please take a look at our Facebook event page here:

A typical day for one of our street cast models is 4 - 8 hours long. This includes time spent in styling, having your photo taken in a few different scenarios, and generally hanging out with the rest of the crew. We like to have fun on set, and aim to ensure everyone involved feels comfortable and also has a good time. Our rates we pay vary with the hours worked, anywhere from $150 for 4 hours up to $250 for 8 hours. You can see our website here to see the types of images we take (click on "showreel"):

Please email any questions to and feel free to pass this along to anyone you think may be interested as this is an open casting call and everyone is invited.
