Moderate Snowshoeing - Helen-Kate Ridge


Helen-Kate Ridge has the most spectacular scenery you will seen on any snowshoe trip. This ridge, situated between Helen and Katherine Lakes, is unnamed but shall be called Helen-Kate Ridge.

A good level of fitness is required as our pace is moderate-fast. Please be realistic about your abilities. You must be able to commit to the entire event.

Snowshoes Hiking or winter boots Gaiters Ski or hiking poles Headlamp Proper seasonal clothing (dress in layers, toque, gloves, wool socks) Lunch and drinks (no Camelbaks or hydration bladders in winter) Sun glasses/SPF rated lip balm No jeans, no cotton clothing of any kind! Snowshoes and hiking poles can be rented at either Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) or UofC Outdoor Center.

We will meet at the in Calgary meeting point and carpool from there. Please be on time as we will only wait a short while past past the departure time before we leave.

28 kms north of Lake Louise junction on Icefields Parkway at Bow Summit.

You must sign a trip waiver and contact information form to attend this event. The event organizer will have these for you.
