A trip to Nigel Pass makes for a rewarding day hike in the Columbia Icefields area.

Note: Our pace will be relaxed. It will not be a race to the top. Also, if you cannot stay with the group please refrain from signing up.

Distance: 14 Km
Elevation gain: 365 M

Directions: Nigel Pass is located in northern Banff National Park. 116 Km north of Lake Louise.

Gear requirements:

Dress appropriately for weather - Columbia Icefields makes the weather unpredictable.
Water (minimum 2 liters)
Hiking boots (if you show up with runners and/or jeans I will not take you for this hike.)
Hiking poles (optional)
Sunscreen, bug spray
Bear Spray
Personal First Aid Kit
Extra Snacks and/or Packed Lunch
Camera (optional)
Pack out garbage

Please arrange costs, schedule etc. for the car pool directly with your driver.
Suggested money for commuting - $45 for gas per person, paid in cash to your driver at the end of the trip.

Park pass required.

After the hike we will be stopping for a bite to eat and coffee.

Organizer have the right to remove member as he/she sees fit without prior notice.

Who can attend: No dogs please. No children for this hike. Members only.

Your Host is a volunteer and not trained guides. All participants are responsible for assessing the current road conditions, current weather conditions, your current physical condition, current trail conditions. You are responsible for your safety and well-being. You are fully prepared with proper gear and you're physically fit to do this hike with the group.
