Thursday Morning Walk in Glenbow Ranch

Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park is one of Alberta's newest provincial parks. Located along the north shore of the Bow River between Calgary and Cochrane, it consists of more than 1,300 hectares of foothills parkland.

It offers spectacular views of the Bow River valley as it winds through 14 km of endangered foothills fescue grasslands.

Join me to explore the ranching, archeological, and natural history of this remarkable landscape.

On October 10th, we will explore some trails if weather permitting. This hike will take about 1 to 2 hours. Please wear comfortable hiking boots and bring at least 2l of water. With the cold Autumn air, you can see the SNOW-capped mountains. Hopefully, we will still see some Autumn colours. We can go for a bite to eat afterwards at Guy's bakery in Cochrane.

Dogs welcome if on leash and obedient! Just remember that some members may be afraid of them. Others are allergic to them and a loose dog can put them in the hospital if they come in contact with them.

By registering for this hike, you signify that you're aware of the risks associated with nature hiking and are aware of your physical limits and how they relate to this particular event. You also signify that you take full responsibility for your safety (although we’ll all do our best to ensure that everyone returns safe and sound) and don’t hold the organizer of the hike or the organizers of this group responsible for any harm that might occur as a result of your participation

    Hi ladies,

I just checked the weather forecast for tomorrow morning.
    It doesn't look good.
It is supposed to be "cloudy and showers", +3 but feels like -1.

Well, I will be there by 10am, all dressed up for the weather.
If it's more than light rain, the hike will be cancelled.
Hope to see you there in the morning. Wishing for a sunny morning,
    June
