Snowshoe Marushka (Shark) Lake

Details

Marushka (Shark) Lake lies in a little valley between Tent Ridge and Mount Shark. This is not an official trail making it less traveled by the crowds and great for nature lovers. The trail starts up an old logging road then wanders thru a cutblock, at the end of the cutblock the trail wanders over to the creek and a forested area that finally comes out at the shore of the little lake. Round trip this trail is approximately 9 km with an elevation gain of 100m (330 feet).
This is an Adult trip, no guests all attendants must sign up as a member. No Pets Please.

You will need a lunch and something like energy bars or trail mix for snacks. A small thermos with a hot drink for lunch is nice but optional. Large heavy coats will be too hot for climbing hills and overheating causes energy loss. I suggest you dress in layers and NO COTTON. Make sure you have room in your pack to store your coat if you need to take it off for and remember to bring an extra pair of warm dry mitts to put on after lunch. We will snowshoe at a leisurely pace with little stops to catch our breath so everyone enjoys the day and so we can admire the view and take pictures.

ALL WINTER TRIPS ARE DEPENDENT ON WEATHER CONDITIONS SO THE MORNING OF THE TRIP PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE TO MAKE SURE THE TRIP ISN'T CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS. We will meet at Shouldice Arena Parking lot at the corner next to 16th Ave, (you are responsible to get to Shouldice Parking lot on your own, city transit stops near by).
