This is a road trip/camping from Calgary (or wherever you will be at the time), all the way to Tuktoyaktuk (Tuk).

The entire event will take place over a 4-week period, and will be filled with adventure at every corner (camping, hikes, exploring small northern towns, etc.). We will start the drive from Calgary on July 8, 2022, and end the adventure on August 5, 2022.

Should you wish to join me, you will need to be prepared for travel on the Dempster & Inuvik-Tuktoyaktuk Highways (proper tires, extra gas, etc.). I will be using a roof top tent. Campers, trailers, etc., are welcome.

There are plenty of videos, blogs and articles on these two highways that you can watch/read. However, to ensure your safety and the safety of others, a potential BBQ prior to the start of the event will be announced to help answer all your questions. An itinerary will also be shared.

I will be camping along the way -- with at least two (2) nights in Tuk. As I write this Event, there are currently no hotels in Tuk, and the few B&Bs get booked quite rapidly. In addition, there is only one hotel on the Dempster Highway (Eagle Plains). Dress for the weather as well.

Disclaimer: the drive on the Dempster is not for the faint of heart, but it will certainly check off your bucket list! :)

Note that the start/end date will be firmed up in early 2022 given Covid.
You can register here or through the Canadian Explorer Series meetup.
