Calgary Search and Rescue Association (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Bay+16%2C+5935+-+35th+Street+SE%2C+Calgary%2C+AB)
Once a year, CALSARA, hosts a recruitment drive. Although they are mainly concerned with searches in the urban Calgary area, they are also occasionally involved with wilderness rescues. This is something that may appeal to some members of CORA and the following information is provided, well, for information purposes only.
Calsara is hosting a recruitment information night on Tuesday, February 12th, between 7 and 9 p.m. They request that people arrive before 7:30 for the information portion of the evening. This information night will be held at their headquarters: Bay 16, 5935 - 35th Street SE.
I joined the Calsara team during last years recruitment. I've participated in some searches, taken many interesting courses, given the Hug-a-Tree presentation and met some great people!
Further information on CALSARA is available on their website: http://www.calsara.com
I will not be organizing a carpool for this event - you will need to make your own arrangements.
