Splitboard - Location TBD

  • December 3 · 7:00 AM

There was quite a lot of interest in going out next weekend so lets do it! Let's all keep our eyes on the reports this week and we'll choose a location as the date approaches.

We can figure out a location in the NW to meet up in the morning for carpool. I'm usually pretty eager to get on the road early and have the first tracks if possible :)

Stoked to see how many people we can get out!

Hey, I can't go this weekend, but would like to join another time. But I'm a bloody beginmer in back country snowboarding. Is that ok?

      Hi Gini!
I would consider myself to be a "beginner backcountry" rider as well, in the sense that I have my AST1 and have only been out in the backcountry around 10 times in the past 2 seasons. I am definitely a very experienced rider in general though (almost 15 years spent on a board).

Perhaps if we start having a big enough weekly meetup we could try to do a beginner and an advanced group.

That would be great. I did my AST1 a few years ago.

crowfoot glades sounds like a good spot:) I've never been but have always wanted to check it out! They're also on the side that don't get that much sun so the snow should be good! I live in the NW as well. How does meeting at Brentwood station sound to everyone? We can leave our vehicles there for the day.

      Hey Guys,
Please go ahead without me today. It's too tight with the company Christmas party this evening.

Hey Graham. I have 4x4 and willing to drive. Can we come up with a place to meet on the NW, or on the way out of town?

    December 2

    • Vince

I have a little old 4x4 and I'm happy to drive too. I can take 2 with gear.

Anna I would definitely be down to head up the icefields parkway and check something like that out. You may have to act as guide :)

I drive an 06 Malibu and could take two in my car.. Obviously if people have 4WD or AWD vehicles that would be preferred but I don't mind driving at all.

Hey Tristyn I work shift work, so I'll be able to go during the week. Let me know the next time you wanna head out.

As for places to head this weekend. I've been out to Bow summit, parkers ridge and crowfoot glades.
Parkers is a little farther up 93, pretty much near the icefields parkway tour parking lot. Awesome little spot to do laps though. The crowfoot glades are also a good little spot off hwy 93. They are just south of Num Ti-Jah lodge. I've never done cirque peak and it sounds like a good spot. I'm up for anything though. I drive a Dodge Ram, so if we are looking for a vehicle to carpool in. I can volunteer. I live in the NW, so if we can try and setup a meeting point on the way out that would be great.

Would love to go, but don't have any splitboard gear yet! Just moved here from Onterrible 3 weeks ago. If any of you know someone looking to sell some gear, let me know! Hope to make it out to the next one!
