Sustainability for Breakfast – Alberta Biomaterials Development Centre (ABDC)

Join us February 22 at AITF to learn about how the Alberta Biomaterials Development Centre is working to cultivate Alberta’s future by helping industry create new products from wood, agricultural fibre and other bio-based feedstock. This event will provide an overview of ABDC and the businesses in the Calgary area that are working to create sustainable products using biomaterials.

New in 2013: This event is offered on a pay-what-you-can basis. Calgary Dollars accepted. All proceeds are directed to REAP's public outreach events and community programming.

AITF is approximately a 5 minute walk from Brentwood LRT station. Check www.CalgaryTransit.com for routes.

I found the innovations in bio-materials being collaborated on by enterprises and organizations highly insightful, and the presentation on created networks of environmentally and economically sustainable entrepreneurial opportunities very engaging.

Fast paced clear presentations by people who knew their stuff and were excited about it - a very worthwhile 90 minutes.

My experience with Biomaterials is minimal; I found today's topic quite interesting.

Atul (and everyone else), please feel free to post your events to REAP's calendar as well. Just go to http://www.reapcalgary.com/news-and-events and click on "add your event" under the calendar on the left. Our website gets more traffic than this Meetup page, so it's good to have them posted in both places.

Youth in Motion is having a Green Career Learning Day for youth on March 13 at the University of Calgary Red and White Club from 9:30-2:00. We are desperately seeking 'career role models' that would be willing to sit with the students at their tables to share their career journey and information about their organizations.
It is going to be an interactive day with no preparation required. We have had an outstanding response form schools but need adults to support them during the event. Thanks so much for your consideration. [masked]
