    Hello.
I enjoyed the breakfast meet up at River Café on Friday. I am glad I had the opportunity to go. Food great! The River Café has a really nice atmosphere. I have to go back to dine. I thought the information about how they really think about reducing waste as a restaurant excellent. The news about the City of Calgary was also fascinating. I found it interesting how they opened up a cell and found items still in tact and not decomposed. There are challenges ahead and how not everything in the land fill reduces as I had thought. I got a chance to meet some interesting people.

This was a very good meet-up with a variety of perspectives! Thanks to the presenters and the Riverside Café for a delicious and educational experience. Waste management (or rather resource recovery, as I like to call it) is such an important topic for sustainability, along with renewable energy/energy conservation, long-term planning, and resource management. It is encouraging to see people working on all different levels with various similar initiatives to make our city a great place to live for current and future generations.

For those interested in this topic, note that the province is currently undergoing changes to it's waste diversion legislation (Too Good to Waste: http://environment.gov.ab.ca/info/library/7822.pdf). Also, McDonough & Braungart have a great book that discusses sustainability by design, with waste being a big topic, called "Getting to Maybe"; very paradigm shifting read.

    Thanks again!

Really good information from all presenters, useful, applicable and encouraging in our personal lives too. Loved Chris' graphics and sense of humour and Kimberly's archaeological photos . . .
I misteakenly thought it was waist reduction week - not with that delicious food! Thanks Sal and Christie & Co.

Very informative, very interesting, great comparison between the successes and initiatives taking place in one restaurant compared to the initiatives and programs provided throughout the city.

Really looking forward to visiting one of the gems in our City that has re-opened after the flood- The River Cafe'. And with a great topic for the brekkie it should be excellent. Let's show our civic love for this event. Let's sell out. Bring a friend with you. Maybe somebody who has never been to the Sustainability Breakfast or the River Cafe'. Thx Stephanie and Carolyn and everyone for continuing this awesome series.

This will be my first breakfast meetup and my first time at River Cafe. Getting up early for a night owl is not the easiest.
