    Great experience all around, to be sure...I hope everyone from our Group felt that way and got something out of it, in whatever genre or path you are taking as a writer. Nect year, without question, I will be STAYING at the Conference so schmoozing can be done without worry and all of you, of course, can use my room as a Drop-In Centre for erudite conversation or just a place to pass out...I judge thee not! :D

    I am gutted that I missed mist of this conference. Had to do a night shift on Saturday night. Feltvreally exhausted Saturday so planed to come on Sunday after 1.30mins of sleep...yeah..that didn't turn out as planned cause I slept until 230pm!!

      Hey, I get that...Life, huh, always has a way of screwing up plans...:( Next year I have already decided that I am getting a hotel room for wherever this conference lands...no commute, stay for the socializing without drinking & driving worries, sleep in til seminars start, go for a swim...yeppers, I'm staying AT the Conference...:D Hopefully next year you can escape better and see more, meet more people, Rachel, or we'll hogtie you there, that might work! :D

      Sure thing, Les, Liz is going to do the exact same thing, doubt if I will make it, will probably head straight to the hotel...Liz and you can pick up any stragglers who didn't get this last minute change...seems this 12 noon may only be for merchants and pre-registration but I do NOT want to take any chances and have our people miss out on sign-ups because we're over at Starbucks...:(

    Okay, people, the Collide conference start-up time has CHANGED...I think this might mean we just arrive straight at the hotel and not at Starbucks, not sure if I'll make it on time, can't get a hold of Liz as yet, so for now, just plan on getting to the conferenced at NOON and consider our STARBUCK'S MEET UP CANCELLED! Thanks, Les, for seeing this, man, would have been NICE if they had emailed their registrants this one...;)

      Being scared is a GOOD thing, Rachel, it just shows that you KNOW the level you can produce and will protect your work until it's "there"...that­ gets you head and shoulders above those who blindly go forward without a realistic thought...you'll "get there" soon and maybe next year's conference will have you slaughtering THEM with your prose...! :D

      Gotcha, Keith, changed to say proper distance, Liz just went by Google Maps, I think. Just go to the Forms Section and register there, we as a Group will be on time for the Opening (1 pm) to sign up for the separate seminars, etc. Their website is atrocious for navigation, yes.

    Is this conference for non fiction writers or fiction writers only? Does everyone get to pitch-it seems that it gets a lot of people along. Surely 400 people could not all pitch?

      For non-fiction and fiction and it's not just for pitching your work to publishers. It also conducts seminars on various genres, techniques. I doubt very much a high % of people at this conference will be "ready" in any professional sense to "pitch", to improve should be the main reason for most attending. I will be there to feel out this conference as this will be my first time. What I know of it I have heard from others but I have heard from all that it is worth attending...:)
