TIME TO CHANGE! I was in a rut, so I took a new job in a new city, and don't want the self-improvement process to stop at the move! I wanted a whole new life, and DSN has given me that! This group offers a huge variety of activities & events, and more importantly, OPPORTUNITIES, to get out of the house & do new things, meet new people & explore new parts of myself!
I traditionally have enjoyed the pub scene - billiards, darts, fresh beer & stale pretzels, I love comedy of all kinds - movies/TV/standup. Interests include travel (both in life and virtual websurfing explorations), music, scouring the internet for interesting tidbits (yes, I'm a computer geek!), meeting people & having new experiences. Not so much into sports ("computer geek" should have tipped you off!), politics or religion, but I rarely ignore anything new that comes my way.
I'm up for (almost!) anything, so I try to keep my options open. The tried & true fun things are always a good time, and the occasional step out of the comfort zone, are what DSN can help provide!
If I didn't, I wouldn't have set this up as a profile question, now would I ?!?
You can certainly call me Joe; I just might not answer...
I'm a 40-something (OK... I'm 50!) white-collar paper-pusher: I love bowling, billiards, bad movies, good company and great beer! I've been a DSN member since Nov/06 & an Organizer since Aug/08, and I'm having the best time of my life doing it!
I am constantly amazed at how much positive feedback - in the remarks, reviews and comments - that DSN events/organizers receive - from those who have been around for years, and more so from those who have just joined and have only been to one event so far. DSN is a very special group; we work hard to make our events friendly, welcoming, fun and interesting, and we are fortunate to have so many great people coming out with us. It is the perfect opportunity to try something a little out of your comfort zone (or, maybe a LOT outside...), or for a single person to join a group activity they otherwise would not be able to do... I have always said that your DSN experience starts with strangers, but ends with friends! - and it is so very true!!!
