What we're about

The plan is to have a bimonthly camping excursion, either locally or afar (always open to new options). Expect to see new things and places! Some places we will go to will have dedicated/reserved campsites for us, and sometimes we will be doing dispersed camping off an OHV road out in the middle of nowhere.

That said, every place we go to will be accessible by vehicle, so just want to clarify that this is not a backpacking group. Off-Road Capable RVs & Overland Vehicles welcome. Off-Road Capable vehicles are typically required to get to our event sites. All campers MUST have prior camping experience, and ALL the needed equipment.

Now I am not a very 'active' camper, as in, I don't plan out an entire day of activities, charge some ridiculuous fee, and demand everyone to join. (another reason I started this group) Everyone is welcome to do their own thing during the day, there are no activity requirements during the trip... please just enjoy yourself out in the wild, be safe, forget about the daily stress, and take in the sunshine.

I look forward to seeing you guys out in the wilderness!

Please let me know if you have any questions

IT'S TIME TO GET BACK OUTSIDE - CAMPING & RELAXING in LOS PADRES NATIONAL FOREST

Join California Camping Adventures while we break free from our couches and finally get outside again. Yes, we have been to this campground before; but it is a quiet area, not too far from home, but far from the city, and easy to get to with any type of vehicle. We should be the only group at the site, so we can spread out and take up alot of space to ensure social distancing. The road to get to the campsite will be easy, any vehicle will make the trip … so all of you guys that couldn't make it due to vehicle restrictions, this trip is for you. It is mostly paved, until the end, which is about a quarter mile or so of flat dirt roads. Off-Road Rated RVs and Trailers OK. LOCATION Los Padres National Park Kings Campground The site will have a single toilet and a couple tables but NO other amenities = NO water/trash removal. So we are going to have to bring in, and set everything up, then pack everything out when we are done, including all trash. We will enforce social distancing (6-10ft boundaries, masks, no sharing, and no common food/sharing area this time). Please don't forget to bring sanitizer and disinfecting items. Also, if you, or ANYONE you know has COVID, PLEASE!!! DO NOT come, we all want this nightmare pandemic to end, as quickly as possible. I understand it sucks, but we have to play it safe, rather than be sorry 2 weeks from now when the symptoms kick in. PLAN: We will meet up between 10am on SATURDAY in the parking lot of GORMAN PLAZA MARKET in Lebec (49744 Gorman Post Rd, Lebec, CA 93243) & then head out around 10.30am. Let’s gather on the right side of the parking lot. The goal is to get out to the campsite, set up our tents & then you are welcome to do anything you want for the rest of the weekend! LOTS OF THINGS TO DO: - explore the local OHV 4x4 trails, (4x4 vehicle needed) - explore the HUNGRY VALLEY OFFROAD REC AREA ($5 a day cost = I plan on doing this on one of the days ) - Hike in the local mountains - enjoy the outdoors and fresh air!!! :) Campers are responsible for bringing their own camping gear, food, water, tents, first aid, toys, & supplies. Weather will be APPROX. 80s/90s day & 60s/70s night. WHAT TO BRING: - WATER/ICE! Drinking & washing.(min. 1 gal/per person/per day) - Food/Drinks. - Firewood. TBD ON FIRE RESTRICTIONS - POSSIBLY PROPANE ONLY - Camping gear. Tent/CHAIR/Sleep Stuff/clothes/lantern/portable toilet/etc. (GENERAL CHECKLIST FOR EACH GROUP/CAMPER = https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQOOQnk_Xs_BpdR8fMT8VrPQ8bY2E5XNjoF4T-b6VHXVmdcvIrIFTwVGJErs5OxDj1JH4-KWn3R5Wp6/pubhtml) -ANY other PROPANE device is acceptable, so if you have the means & extra space; bring it. COST: $5 per person (this goes towards the meetup website host account monthly fee = they charge me $24 a month for this group - EVEN during this lockdown... I'm not here to make a profit off of this; I just want everyone to have a good time) RSVP & PAYMENT RULES: The payment is DUE at the time of your RSVP to CONFIRM your spot, I accept Venmo (Paul-R1) or Apple Cash (message me). If event is full, You will be moved off the list until your payment is made. NO SHOWS do not get a refund. Cancellations prior to the last week can receive a payment credit (not refund), but ONLY if there is someone to take your place, otherwise the fee is still incurred. *LEGAL* Adventure Pass needed for ALL vehicles.
