Sitting in deckchairs, under quince or apple tree you’ll be entertained by 4 fantastic comedians. There will be a bar with drinks and meat and cheese platters for sale.
Wine Gums, Comedy Market & Custard Comedy present: A comedy night OUTSIDE at The Orchard Tea Garden, Grantchester
After a very successful comedy night in Grantchester Tea Garden Orchard in July we bring you a second one in September. It may well be a bit chillier and darker but the laughter and fun will be the same!
Sitting in deckchairs under apple and quince trees we have headlining Ken Cheng.
Born and bred in Cambridge, a whizz at maths at the age of 4. He dropped out of St John’s College Cambridge to become a professional poker player and very successful comedian.
Opening our comedy night we have Funmbi Omotayo who smashed it on the John Bishop show. A friendly, instantly likeable, Nigerian comedian.
In the shorter, middle spots we have Martin Wratten and Laura Smyth.
Laura won The Funny Women Award 2019. A native East Londoner and mother of three she has made a big impact on the comedy circuit, including her T.V. debut on The Jonathan Ross comedy club. “Marvellous” Jonathan Ross. “A naturally funny woman” Jo Brand
Martin Wratten, a former ice cream seller, will have you in stitches.....even though his wife doesn’t find him funny!
Best to book as soon as possible as sold out well before the event last time.
Please don’t bring your own food or drink to the Orchard as food and drink is on sale there.
Arrive just before 7 ready for a 7 30 start.
We're thrilled to have Britain's Got Talent Finalist Nabil Abdulrashid as our headliner on Friday October 15th at Custard Comedy in Eddington.
Nabil Abdulrashid is an award-winning comedian, writer, presenter and actor.
Nabil recently competed in the 2020 series of Britain’s Got Talent, enjoying a triumphant run to the competition’s final, drawing praise from the show’s judges for his hilarious and uncompromising brand of stand-up comedy. Awarding Nabil the coveted ‘Golden Buzzer’ in the first round of the competition, Alesha Dixon praised his “edgy, charismatic” style.
In a piece suggesting Nabil should have won the competition overall, the Sunday Telegraph described Nabil’s performance in the final as “urgent, uncompromising and refreshingly radical fare, smartly woven into a gag-packed set.”
Plus ... Jason Patterson. Winner of the Loaded Laftas Rising Star Award, Jason Patterson is a versatile and engaging stand up comedian. Jason has performed at comedy clubs all over the UK and his strong, live performances led to him being nominated for Best Newcomer at the Black Entertainment Comedy Awards.
Internationally, he has performed across North America, Europe and the Middle East and has had TV appearances on BBC Three and MTV.
And ... Pauline Eyre!
Our MC is Howard Read. As a Stand up Howard Read is brilliantly off the wall. Totally silly, songs and jokes and stupidness. The man is a buffoon of the highest order. And in this business that is a good thing. "Genius" Radio Times.
